Clash Royale Review, Strategy and Tips to build the best Deck for iOS and Android

Who doesn't know Clash of Clans. The game that was released for iOS back in 2012 and Android in 2013 has achieved a lot of things; and by a lot, I mean really a lot. Even at the early time when the game has just released, Clash of Clans has shown a really good potential, becoming AppStore top 5 download between December 2012 and May 2013. It finally rape it sow during last year, when Clash of Clans became the top grossing app on both iOS and Android. Clash of Clans even generates a huge 1.5 million dollars per day!

The gameplay that's offered by Clash of Clans was a fresh idea at that time. You get to build a defense, gold producing machine, then build troops with the gold you've produced. Afterwards, you get to attack other players to get more gold, and repeat that again. I know that this isn't a fresh idea anymore since so many games have copied this mechanic and use it as their core. However, that's not the reason why this game was able to generate 1.5 million dollars in 2015. It is in my opinion the community behind the game. The ability to create clans, defending and attacking other clans together, supported with reliable network server, making this game is the next 'World of Warcraft'.

Now after a huge success in 2015, the developer of Clash of Clans, Supercell, wants to repeat that success again with the same community and similar policy, but with a fresh gameplay. To do that, Supercell creates another real-time multiplayer game starring all the familiar characters from Clash of Clans, called Clash Royale.

App Store is bloated with apps today. In total, there are more than 2 millions apps in the App Store with 25% of it, coming from games alone. From these numbers, I can safely say that most of them are casual gamers. This opinion is supported by the statistics that's coming from Localize Direct.

From this statistics, Puzzle and Arcade are the top two genres that dominating the App Store. It means that game developers are more interested to create games that appealing to more audience. Not just making a game that only targeting hardcore gamers. They want to build games that suitable for any age and can be played in most situation, especially during boring meeting.

Speaking of which, to target casual gamers, developers are tend to create games with portrait view to facilitate the needs of commute casual gamers, playing game with just one hand. Something that's impossible to do when you have a game with landscape mode. Portrait mode game, however, isn't easy to design. Because in terms of UX, it lacks the width that's usually used to give more roomy feeling.

This lack of roomy feeling however, isn't something that can be found in Alex Kupstov from Fireflame Games latest game. Fireflame Games is renown for the classic fantastic match-3 RPG game, Dungeon Raid. After several years inactive from updating his famous game, Alex has come back alive and strong with a Roguelike/Puzzle/Board Game called I Keep Having This Dream.

However, I always try to be as neutral as possible when doing review for a game from this genre. It's hard though, if I'm being honest.

This next game, is coming from the developer that have renowned for creating multiple amazing football simulation games.First Touch Games, the men behind amazing soccer games like First Touch Soccer and Score!, released their latest installment from Dream League series, and it's called Dream League Soccer 2016.

Marvel Avengers Academy Tips and Tricks - How to get Heroes Faster in iOS and Android

Marvel Avengers Academy Tips and Tricks - How to get Heroes Faster in iOS and Android

There are a lot of things happening in the comic book world, especially when we're talking about The Avengers and Marvel Universe. Some of you may have known Earth's Mightiest Heroes from the movie, but most comic book lovers will already know that The Avengers version in the movie is nowhere near the complexity that the comic book has.

This so-called multiverse, is the reason behind all this complexity. Inside each universe, lies individual story that separates one from another. For example, the blockbuster movie that we know, is called Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is different from the comic book universe, so that's why you won't find any Wolverine in the Avengers movie.

Let's add another 'complexity' to the multiverse with the latest franchise of Marvel's game. Developed by TinyCo, the men and women behind Family Guy: The Quest for StuffMarvel Avengers Academy brings all the super heroes back in their college life, under one building.

Punch Club: A Fighter's Tamagotchi for iOS and Android (with Guides, Tips and Tricks)

Simulation games have always been one of my favorite genre. A simulation game is a game where you will be simulating various activities from real life. At the early development of simulation game, the true purpose of it isn't actually for fun purpose but rather for real-life purpose such as training, analysis, or prediction. Most simulation games trying to tell the player about how they think a real situation from their game would happen.

But as time goes by, so does the evolution of simulation games. Now they're not just focusing on detail and real-life simulation, but also broaden its range to a more friendly, simple, and fun games. The history of simulation game is a bit blur. While many credits the notorious Sim City as the first simulation game, Coleco Vision claim themselves as the game that inspires Sim City.

Since the success of Sim City, simulation games is like the genre that would never dies. This genre always has its own fan base that would never fade away. Just like the time when I was a child, the time when Tamagotchi was first released in public, 20 years ago. It's like everybody feel responsible to raise a digital pet that's just as large as any keychain, and can be brought anywhere they go.

That's exactly the same concept that I thought when simulation games being brought into iPhone. It's like you have your own tamagotchi again, but this time, it's not just digital pet, you can even bring a street fighter everywhere you go and have him develops into a tough fighter.

Combining strategic decision and simulation together is what Lazy Bear Games wanted to present to the players. With these combinations in mind, along with the passion to bring back nostalgic feeling into modern game, Punch Club is born.

Runestone Keeper - A Permadeath Roguelike Game Review and Beginner Guide for iOS and Android

Runestone Keeper - A Permadeath Roguelike Game Review and Beginner Guide for iOS and Android

Why does playing game that has no limit is so addictive to some people? For me personally, it's because the endless challenge offered by the game. It seems that when I'm playing an endless game, I'm challenging something that literally impossible, but always interesting to be played with.

Endless games however, is a category that's a bit sensitive to most hardcore gamers. I don't know about you obviously but all hardcore gamers that I've known, would prefer games that has clear ending, not just aiming high score and just doing something repetitively.

Roguelike game, despite in many way, can also be categorized into this endless game category, but with different weight in terms of its gameplay. The genre that's also a sub-genre of Role-Playing Games, isn't just you simply running aimlessly bragging about score, it's about how you plan your next game session. It's entirely in a different weight.

Speaking of the history of Roguelike game, most hardcore gamers would be familiar with the most famous tabletop role-playing game called Dungeon and Dragons. This fantasy game had more than 3 million players around the world just back in 1981, and by 2004, this game has reached more than 20 million people. In fact, games like D&D have influenced most Roguelike games that based on a high fantasy narrative.

There are some characteristics that separate roguelike games from other genre. Permanent Death of the player character, that is. Permadeath (the cool vocab for permanent death), according to Wikipedia, is a situation in which player characters that die are permanently dead and removed from the game and may no longer be used to play. It means when you're dead, you will have to restart the game all over again from scratch.

Back in 2013, a roguelike game entered iOS games platform, and successfully made this genre the new darling in the midst of various genre. Since then, a lot of high quality roguelike game have entered the platform, from friendly roguelike game like Sproggiwood to a more play-and-go game like 100 Rogues. All of them have different play styles and taste, but all with the same characteristics, the permadeath.

In 2015, another fantastic roguelike game with permadeath game mechanic is entering the mobile platform again. Originally designed for iOS platform, Blackfire Games from China, decided to release it first on PC to test the public interest for this game since roguelike genre wasn't that popular in China. The PC's release however, turns out great as they have successfully snatched 2014 UNITY AWARDS for Best Gameplay in China. Moreover, now there are more Chinese players that signed up for Steam because of this game.

This is Blackfire Games own roguelike version that has shaken China's gaming industry, Runestone Keeper.

Power Hover - A Cinematic Runner Game on iOS

Power Hover - A Cinematic Runner Game on iOS

We without a doubt, are living in a world where electricity is a power that runs almost everything in our life. Entertainment, communications, power generators, and so many more. Electricity has taken biggest part of our daily life. Perhaps you will be able to live a day without any electricity, but what about 7 days straight? How about 1 year straight without electricity?

What if, something, someone, has the ability to take all the electricities away from one place and left it alone in the darkness, without any electricity? ODDROK, a Helsinki (capital of Finland if you're asking) developer studio founded by Markus and Janne Kallio (not related by blood by the way), tries to use this fact as the base for their first game as duo called Power Hover.

Football Manager Mobile 2016: Best Football Manager Offline Game for iOS and Android

Football Manager Mobile 2016: Best Football Manager Offline Game for iOS and Android

The game that I'm about to talk, is without a doubt, one of the most successful football management simulation game in the whole world, and it all started way back in 1992. In 1992, this football simulation game started with the name, Championship Manager created by two brothers under the name of Sports Interactive and published by Eidos.

In 2003, Sports Interactive split with Eidos, retained the game's match engine, database, and changed its name into Football Manager. Slowly but sure, Football Manager sets their feet deeply and claim back their right to become the most popular football management simulation game.

Football Manager set their feet on handheld device back on 2006, when they released Football Manager Handheld (FMH) on PSP. Of course they designed the game separately due to the different playing experience in handheld console.

However as if Sports Interactive wants to expand more with this business line, FMH was entering mobile products, started with iOS back in 2010, continued with Android in April 2012.

Finally in 2016, FMH was being renamed and released to both iOS and Android devices with the name Football Manager Mobile 2016.
