Introduction and Facts
Jamie Grace was counted as one of the luckiest singer when found by TobyMac and then signed into his label, Gotee Records. But, yes she's that talented, she got a Grammy Awards Nomination for her debut album. She even won 2012 Dove Award for New Artist of the Year.
After that huge success on her first album, she released her second album, Ready to Fly, on January 28, 2014. Produced by Chuck Butler, David Garcia, and famous producer that also worked with Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, and Mandisa, Christopher Stevens.
When it comes to listen to the new songs, I always loved folk genre. Not because me and Natasha chose jazz acoustic as our genre, but the simplicity of music as well as how easy-listening folk music is, makes me love it. That was the same reason that makes me easily listened to Jamie's songs repeatedly.
Behind the Lyrics
Just like most folk songwriters, they have a same thing in common. Ready to Fly also has a list of powerful lyrics behind the album. Beautiful Day speaks about the amazing day God has given to us. Fighter told an inspiring story about two people that could be anyone's inspiration after listening to the song. Those two songs can represent the other songs in this album. This is an album that was meant to be inspiration and encouragement to everyone.
Notion About Music
Just like what you can expect from TobyMac, Ready To Fly shows combination of TobyMac's modern style and Jamie Grace's folk acoustic style. This combination gives more modern music feeling, yet it still has that light, easy listening feel from the acoustic.
As this album is also a Christian Contemporary Music, you can expect worship songs from this album. To Love You Back, The Waiting, and Ready to Fly will be suitable for such moment.
My favorite tracks would be Beautiful Day and Fighter.
My conclusion is that this album would be super awesome for those folk acoustic music lovers. If you are a easy listening type of person, you would find this album fun and beautiful. You would definitely smiling while listening to this album.
